A Bumpy Start
Our journey to Thailand didn't start as smoothly as planned. Flight delays in London led to missing our connection, and we had to be re-routed. But as any seasoned traveler knows, these bumps in the road often lead to the best stories. We finally arrived in Bangkok on the 10th, and the warm tropical air instantly washed away any travel fatigue.
Local Finds & Rest
After settling in, we discovered a fantastic local "hole in the wall" restaurant near our hotel. There's something magical about finding those hidden gems that only locals know about. That evening, we ordered room service and relaxed by the courtyard pool, letting our bodies adjust to the new timezone and recover from the long journey.
First Foray: Chinatown
With a free day to ourselves, we decided to explore the vibrant and bustling Chinatown independently. The narrow streets packed with vendors, the aromatic food stalls, and the beautiful Chinese temples made for an unforgettable introduction to Bangkok's multicultural heritage.
Street Food Delights
That evening, we met our local guide and went on a street food walk. The flavors of Thailand are unlike anything else - the perfect balance of sweet, sour, salty, and spicy in every dish. We found another fabulous Thai meal and realized this trip was going to be a culinary adventure as much as a cultural one.
